Do vm.tiktok.com short links work?

Yes. Paste a vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com link exactly as TikTok’s share button gives it to you — we follow the redirect to the real video automatically. Full tiktok.com/@user/video/… links work too.

Does it work with photo-mode posts?

No — only video posts can be converted. A photo carousel (photo-mode post) has no video stream to turn into a GIF, so the fetch will tell you it is not a video post.

Will the GIF have TikTok’s watermark?

We convert the video exactly as TikTok serves it. Depending on the video, that copy may carry TikTok’s own overlay; we do not add any watermark of our own beyond the small Gickr badge in the corner.

Can I convert private videos?

No. Only public TikTok videos can be fetched — private, friends-only and deleted videos are not accessible.
