Will my iPhone’s .mov files work?

Yes — including modern iPhone recordings in HEVC/H.265 ("High Efficiency" in your camera settings). The conversion runs on FFmpeg, which decodes both HEVC and older H.264 MOV files, and portrait clips keep their orientation.

Do I need to convert MOV to MP4 first?

No. Upload the .mov exactly as your device saved it — converting it to MP4 first only loses quality and wastes a step.

How long can the GIF be?

Up to 10 seconds. GIFs are heavy files by nature, so a short, well-chosen loop looks better and loads far faster than a long clip.

Is this MOV to GIF converter free?
